Omar Effendi is an Egyptian government company and a chain of stores affiliated with the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels, one of the companies of the Ministry of Public Business Sector.
It was established in 1856 in Cairo by the Austrian-born Adolf Orozdi family. It is considered one of the largest retail trade companies in Egypt, with a number of Branches of the “Omar Effendi” chain of stores: 82 branches and 68 stores spread throughout the republic
Major stores contain multiple departments that sell every type of merchandise . There are stores for clothes and others for shoes, leather goods, household items, or food items. Major stores have collected all these products in one place.
The company is wholly owned by the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels.
