Engineer Mohamed Shimi, Minister of the Public Business Sector, continued his meetings with the heads of the companies affiliated with the Ministry, and met today, Sunday, with the executive managing members of the affiliated companies, the Holding Company for Tourism and Hotels, in the presence of Maged El Menshawy, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Holding Company, and Amr Attia, Managing Director of the Holding Company, at the headquarters of the Misr Tourism Company. Engineer Mohamed Shimi listened to presentations from the holding company and its subsidiaries on the companies’ activities and fields of work, whether in the hotel and tourism sector, internal trade, or real estate development activity. He reviewed business strategies and future plans and the most prominent current challenges, in addition to financial indicators, the size of assets, the status of their exploitation, and their geographical distribution. Investment opportunities, partnership projects with the private sector, and the current position of implementing the “ERP” program for enterprise resource planning.

Engineer Mohamed Shimi stressed that the proper exploitation and development of companies’ assets represents one of the main axes in the Ministry’s work plan with the aim of achieving the maximum benefit from those assets and maximizing returns, directing the need to prepare specific and clear plans to exploit the unexploited assets and manage them optimally, pointing to the diversity of the assets of the holding company and its subsidiaries. Its distinguished locations in the fields of tourism, hotels, and real estate development, as well as commercial branches.

Engineer Muhammad Shimi stressed the need to make intensive efforts to develop management systems in subsidiaries, enhance governance, improve operational efficiency, keep pace with technological development, adhere to security and safety standards, pay attention to improving the work environment, develop the human element, work according to time programs with specific timings to complete various projects, and periodically follow up on implementation rates. The speed of dealing with any stumbling project by developing urgent and decisive solutions, the continuous development of hotels and tourist facilities, updating sound and light shows, examining expansion opportunities, reviving ancient brands, paying attention to affiliated educational institutes in the tourism and hotel fields and developing their performance, expanding partnerships with the private sector and attracting investments. Local and foreign, especially in light of the presence of many promising opportunities for partnership and investment.
